The studio is at 61 Endicott Street in Norwood, about a 28–30 minute drive from Lexington—roughly22 miles straight down Route 95/128 South. Most Lexington families tell us the drive is shorter andeasier than they expected, especially compared to navigating into Boston. Parking is right outside thedoor, no garages, no city traffic. For families coming from Lexington Center, East Lexington, or anywherealong Massachusetts Avenue, it’s a straightforward drive that we recommend planning around thebaby’s calmest window of the day.

This is one of the most common questions we hear from Lexington families expecting their secondbaby, and the honest answer is yes. Many parents skip newborn photos with their first—because ofCOVID, NICU stays, exhaustion, or simply not knowing professional newborn sessions existed. The guiltthat comes later is real, but it’s misplaced. What matters is capturing the family you have right now.We’ll include your older child in the session so they’re part of the story too, and you’ll end up withphotos that show all of you together at a stage that won’t come around again. Twenty years from now,your first child won’t ask why their photos look different. They’ll be grateful you did the second sessionat all.

Almost certainly not. The “two-week window” you’ve probably read about online is a guideline, not arule, and many of the most beautiful Lexington newborn sessions we photograph happen at three, four,even six weeks. With babies a little older, we adjust the session—more wrapped poses, more time witheyes open, more interaction with parents and siblings. The photos look different from a seven-day-oldsession, but they’re just as meaningful. If you’ve recently had a baby and assumed it was too late, pleasereach out. It’s almost never too late.

Yes, and we strongly encourage it. Family photo sessions with visiting grandparents are some of themost meaningful work we do—especially for Lexington families whose extended family travels longdistances, sometimes from across the country or overseas, to be here. The studio environment works particularly well for these sessions: it’s heated, calm, has seating and a private feeding area, and is fullyaccessible for older relatives. We recommend booking the session for the middle of the visit (not thefirst or last day) and reaching out as soon as you know the dates. These visits go quickly, and the photosalmost always end up being the part of the trip families look back on most.

It’s a great question and one we hear a lot from Lexington families. The honest answer is thatbeautiful homes—especially modern ones with big windows, white walls, and open floor plans—areoften harder to photograph well than they look. The light tends to be high-contrast, recessed lightingcasts hard shadows, and white walls reflect color onto skin tones in ways that are hard to correct. A realnewborn studio is heated to the right temperature for a baby (around 80 degrees), has every prop andsetup ready, and produces photographs that hold up over decades, regardless of how the housechanges. There are exceptions—lifestyle and documentary-style sessions can absolutely work in-home—and we’re happy to talk through which approach fits your family. For maternity and newborn sessions, the earlier the better—most Lexington families book during thesecond trimester so we can pencil in a date around the due date. Newborn sessions are typicallyscheduled within the first two to three weeks after baby arrives, which means available slots fill quickly,especially in spring and fall. For family sessions, four to eight weeks of lead time works well most of theyear, though we’re sometimes able to accommodate shorter notice. If grandparents are visiting or youhave a specific timeline in mind, reach out as early as you can—we’ll do our best to make it work.
